Thomas Meano and his wife Kathrin watched as the aptly named snow cannons proceeded to groom the ski slope located just yards away from their apartment. The cannon shot out streams of water, which turned to snow in the frigid air.

Later in the day, the couple began to settle in. They decided to do some grocery shopping and visit a few friends and family members. They stopped for a brief visit with Kathrin’s sister Frieda then paid a visit to the parents of their friend who had so graciously lent them the apartment in which they were staying. Incidentally, their friend’s parents named Giligian and Alice also lived on the second floor of the same triplex apartment.

Eventually, Thomas and Kathrin moved on and paid a visit to Heinz and Francisca in the town of Niederhuenigen. This lovely couple owned the amazing apartment Thomas and Kathrin currently occupied. Heinz and Francisca lived on a farm way off the beaten path. When Thomas and Kathrin arrived for their visit with the couple, a group of turkeys came to welcome them. These turkeys danced in an almost synchronized way and then stopped and pointed their wings at the ground while standing motionless. It was very odd, but what can be expected from a bird that will drown if left outdoors in the rain due to its propensity to stand with its mouth open?

Thomas Meano and Kathrin spent Friday with Frieda, Kathrin’s sister, and her husband Hans. Also present was Frieda’s son David, his wife Severene and their new son Niko.
