As parents we wish nothing but happiness and success for our little ones. This dream begins for some of us even before they are born! I know that college plans for my 2 year old began just as he was born. We decided to go ahead and set up a Life Insurance Plan that we put money into monthly and it will have a substantial amount by the time he is ready to take his first college classes. Since then our situation has changed both where we are living but also financially. However, the plan is designed to allow us to make any necessary changes to accommodate our current situation. We recently moved to a new area that placed us very close to one of the top ten universities of the country, Stanford, and my husband and I have deemed it our son’s future school. Now the pressure is really on for us!

College planning is not something that we think of for our kids when they are young but rather take it seriously when they have entered High School and the college talk really begins. However, in most cases by then it becomes rather difficult to set up a substantial amount for their schooling. This is why I believe College Planning should be advertised and presented to parents more than what I have seen. Parents need to realize the importance behind College Planning but also how easy it can be to start planning for our children's future!
