Krav Maga, my hubby the Geek's new thing,
seemed to be just a martial arts workout class at first. THEN, my hubs started coming home with these:
REALLY? Did my DH just join an underground Fight Club? Is this for real? Strange enough, we went to a party the other night and met numerous "super geeks"…

Luke is such a little stinker! I asked him why he drew all over himself and he said "Well, there were spiders in my room and I had to get them off me." Wow. His imagination never ceases to amaze me...and by that I mean the excuses he comes up with! LOL…

One of the best parts about living in Silicon Valley is that there is always something fun to do with the kids! There are plenty of parks, beaches and amusement parks but if you are ever in the area, make sure to stop by the Googleplex
in Mountain View. Here is some of what you will see!…

My geek husband also happens to be a Polock and one of his favorite memories growing up was making Pierogis with his mom, aka YaYa. We absolutely love when she makes them for holidays and got the courage up to make them on our own once before. They turned out pretty good so this time we decided to share how to make the yummy goodness with you all! It's fun for the kids too!
Here is what you will need: Continue

This morning, my little monster took sidewalk chalk play to a new level! I was used to chalky hands and clothes but he decided it would be more fun to dip the chalk in the dog water and paint himself with it. Here is the damage...… Continue

There are many things I have done recently that I never thought I would actually enjoy. Some good examples would be eating blue cheese dressing or taking the dogs to a doggie birthday party at the dog park. It's true. I took my two little shih tzus to a friend's dog's birthday party. But for those of you that know me, you will be surprised to find out I actually watched, get this, a soccer game! I tried to resist...ok, no I didn't because… Continue

Last 4th of July, we made the trip up to San Francisco's Pier 39 for the fireworks. We had a good time and the display was awesome but it was windy and kind of chilly. This year we decided to host at our house and BBQ. We got a new blow-up pool, some water balloons and a few fireworks so the kids could enjoy the afternoon with their friends.
The fireworks we had were the lamest fireworks ever (don't tell the kids) thanks to nothing being legal anymore. The kids enjoyed… Continue

We had been toying with the idea of going camping for a while so when a good friend offered to let us tag along with them, we jumped at the chance. One great perk to living in northern California is that taking the kids out to experience the wilderness is only an hour from home. I laugh thinking of how many people kept wishing us sarcastic "good luck" when they realized we were taking the kids! Lucky for us, we were going with our trusted friends that have camped many times with little… Continue

I will just start by saying I have not had good experiences at the dentist. Now add taking my kids along for their check ups at the same time? There is no way this can be a good idea!
So, off we went right after a playdate at the park. Sadie bug fell asleep in the car and was conveniently extra whiney when I had to wake her. Luke seemed on board and excited which usually makes him super wild. (He can be a complete spaz! lol) We… Continue

Being the youngest toddler in the play group definitely has it's perks. Sadie is lucky to have a bunch of bigger kids that love her and take her under their wings. Sometimes literally- she has had a few choke-hold neck hugs and been pulled around unwillingly but that goes with the territory! For the most part, she has learned very quickly how to hang with the big kids. She even chimes in when they all jump into character. You'll hear Luke first "Batmaaaaaaan!" followed by "Elasta-giiiiiiiirl",… Continue

Growing up outside of CA, I never imagined I would end up living here. Ever. I came to CA lots of times, mostly to southern CA, to play/coach softball and liked visiting the beaches, aquariums and of course Disney Land. But I was always very happy to leave and go back to places with much less traffic, a less visible brown cloud, and where I didn't have to think "Are we going to have an earthquake today?" There was no way I was going to move to California.
Then one day,… Continue

We finally made it to Toy Story 3 today. "We" meaning the kids and I since daddy was at his Krav Maga class. Exactly, whatever that is. Anyway, I didn't chance the 3D version this time. We tried it before when the 1st and 2nd Toy Story came back to the theatre (flipping $12 per ticket) and Luke lasted about 15 min once the actual movie started! Boo for previews before a kid's movie! Seems pretty obvious 2.5 hrs is too long for most kids to sit still but maybe it is just my… Continue

So here goes nothing... I guess my first post should be about who the Geek and I are. The Geek is Chris, my husband of 4 years now. He is an amazing DBA that does MySQL stuff all day long. Honestly, all day and night for that matter. :) He is not the typical geek at first glance- with his shaved head, goatee, and sunglasses. In fact, we often have people saying how intimidating he looks. But then you see the bluetooth attached to his ear and… Continue
